Woman alluring people for jobs arrested

Jammu, Nov 30 (UNI) A woman was arrested today for playing fraud and alluring people for jobs here, police said.

The accused, identified as Shafiqa Mir, a resident of Firdous Colony, Bemina, Srinagar, was apprehended by the city police for befooling people for employment while an amount of Rs 96,000 was also recovered from her possession, senior police official told UNI.

''She was staying in a local hotel here and imposed herself as a leader of a political party. Depicting herself as influential in the political arena, she collected lakhs of rupees from people assuring them of government jobs,'' police said.

However, acting on complaints lodged by two people, who were befooled by the the woman, police raided the hotel this afternoon and arrested her. possession.

Police further added that she also represented herself as a Chairperson of a fake NGO in the name of Rural Development Relief Society and a member of Rajya Naujawan Shakti Party.

However, she was booked under section 420 of CrPc while further investigations were in progress, police said.
