Upper reaches of Jammu region experience fresh snowfall

Jammu, Nov 30 (UNI) Upper reaches of Jammu region experienced fresh snowfall as heavy rains lashed winter capital early today, pushing mercury further down.

The entire region remained hazy as the cold waves gripped the winter capital after the rains here followed by fresh snowfalls in the upper reaches of Doda, Bhaderwah and Kishtwar, official sources told UNI.

Meanwhile, the temperature dipped at holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi after Trikuta Hills experienced heavy rainfalls since night, official sources said adding, ''If the rains continue today, the upper reaches here may also see fresh snowfall.

However, fog and rains forced the cancellation of number of Srinagar and Delhi bound flights to their destinations, they said.
