Tax exemptions to SEZs costs Rs 1,02,621 crore revenue in 3 years

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) The revenue loss to the government's exchequer on account of tax exemptions to Special Economic Zones (SEZs) has been estimated to be Rs 1,02,621 crores for the three years from 2006-07 to 2009-10, Minister of State for Finance Palanimanickam told the Lok Sabha today.

Of this, revenue loss on account of direct taxes was estimated to be Rs 53,740 crores and on indirect taxes, it was estimated to be Rs 48,881 crores, he added.
