Supreme Court rejects Pappu Yadav's bail plea
New
Delhi,
Nov
30:
The
Supreme
Court
today
dismissed
the
bail
application
of
RJD
MP
from
Bihar
Rajesh
Ranjan
Yadav,
alias
Pappu
Yadav,
seeking
bail
in
the
Ajit
Sarkar
murder
case
on
medical
grounds.
A bench, comprising Justices S B Sinha and H S Bedi, dismissed the bail application in view of the track record of the petitioner saying, ''We are not inclined to release him on bail.'' Earlier, the court had sought reports from AIIMS whether the petitioner could be treated in jail or not.
Today's dismissal order came following an AIIMS report which said the RJD MP could be adequately treated without being released on bail.
Yadav had been complaining of obesity and contended that Tihar jail did not have adequate facilities for his medical treatment.
Hence, he should be released on bail so that he could get treatment from a hospital which had proper facilities.
The apex court had earlier also rejected Yadav's bail application.
