Rakesh Mehta appointed as new Delhi Chief Secretary

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) Mr Rakesh Mehta is the new Chief Secretary of Delhi, it was announced today.

The announcement of the appointment of Mr Mehta, a 1975 batch IAS officer, as the Chief Secretary was made by the Delhi Government here.

Mr Mehta (56) succeeds the outgoing Chief Secretary R Narayanswami, who demits office today.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Secretary, Mr Mehta has served on several posts in the Delhi administration including a stint as Municipal Commissioner. Currently, he is the Principal Secretary (power) in the Delhi Government.
