Rajdeep Sardesai bags C H Journalism award

Kozhikode, Nov 30: Well-known journalist and CNN-IBN Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Sardesai has been chosen for the coveted C H Journalism Award for his outstanding contribution to the field.

The award, instituted jointly by the Calicut Press Club and C H Muhammed Koya Journalism Trust, carries a cash prize of Rs 1.11 lakh and a plaque, Trustee and former Kerala Minister M K Muneer told reporters here today.

A panel comprising eminent writers M T Vasudevan Nair, O N V Kurup and T N Jayachandran, selected the journalist for the award from among 50 nominations filed by renowned personalities in divergent fields, he said.

The award will be presented to him at a function here in January, next year, he said.

Columnists Praful Bidwai and T J S George, were the earlier winners of the award.
