Rajasthan to woo investors for industrialisation of the state

Jaipur, Nov 29 (UNI) Aimed at making Rajasthan an investment hub, the state government today said it has identified auto, ancillaries, textiles, mineral-based industries, IT, ITeS and agro-based units as thrust areas for rapid industrialisation of the state ''The National Capital Region (NCR) is one of the most important auto clusters in the country and produces more than 60 per cent of passenger cars, 55 per cent motorcycles and 25 per cent tractors in the country, said said Rajasthan Minister of Industries Narpat Singh Rajvi.

Alwar, Bhiwadi, Neemrana are well-developed industrial clusters, and the state has identified the automotive sector as a thrust sector having huge potential for investment, employment and upgradation of skills, he said.

The state will also promote the setting up of Integrated Textile Parks at Kishangarh, Jaipur and Pali, and the government will place special focus on the garment and the knitting industry, he added.

The Minister also informed that the state will set up agro food parks at Kota, Jodhpur, Alwar and Sriganganagar, which will be equipped with modern testing laboratories.

Major players in the It sector such as Genpact, Infosys have also set up base in the state. ''IT parks have been developed in Jaipur, Udaipur and Kota. A sum of Rs 16 criore has been provided as venture capital to eight projects. A second fund of Rs 100 crore is also being created,'' Mr Rajvi said.
