Racket dealing in fake currency unearthed; 3 arrested

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) The North district police today claimed to have busted a racket involved in dealing in counterfeit currency and arrested three people in this connection.

On November 27, information was received by the police that one person would be coming near north campus of the Delhi University to deliver counterfeit currency notes. A trap was laid and one Shamim Akhtar arrested with fake currency of Rs 46,900 in Rs 100 denomination.

During interrogation, he revealed the names of two of his accomplices -- Firoze and Surender --and both were arrested.

A case of sale and possession of counterfeit notes was registered against the trio at the Maurice Nagar Police Station.
