Power scheme to be introduced in 7 sub divisions
Phagwara, Nov 30 (UNI) Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) has selected seven divisions including Nakodar (Sub-urban) to introduce a pilot project of "High Voltage Distribution system" in next ten years.
While stating this here today, PSEB Engineer(North) Harjit Singh Thukral said the scheme was initiated to check power thefts through "Kundi Connections". He said more than nine lakh tubewells of the state would be directly connected to power transformers which would be installed near every tubewell and all "low tension wires" would be removed.
Mr Thukral said that though this System was introduced for new tubewell connections in October last year and more than fifty thousands tubewells were covered under the scheme. Now the pilot project would be introduced for all old tubewell connections and Nakodar suburban division has been selected for the project in the North Zone.
