Medicos at JIPMER oppose extension of MBBS course

Puducherry, Nov 30 (UNI) MBBS and PG students of the Centrally administered JIPMER Hospital here today opposed the Centre's move to extend the duration of the MBBS course by making one-year rural service mandatory.

They conveyed their protest to the Dr Sambasiva Rao Committee, constituted by Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss, which visited the hospital and interacted with the students.

Apart from the students, the faculty members and parents of the students from all the private medical colleges also opposed the move.

They later told newspersons that they would unitedly fight against the move.
