IAF inducts 30 engineering officers

Bangalore, Nov 30 (UNI) Thirty officers, including seven woman, were inducted into the Indian Air Force at a colourful and impressive Graduation Parade of 69th Aeronautical Engineering (AE) course held at Air Force Technical College in the city today.

Air Marshal B N Gokhale, Vice Chief of Air Staff, IAF was the Chief Guest and Reviewing officer of the passing out parade. The graduation parade marked the completion of the Aeronautical engineering course spanning over 50 weeks, a release said here.

Speaking on the occasion the Air Marshal said in IAF these officers would get the chance to exploit the medium of space, handle smart weapons, explore computer aided decision making, real time intelligence and other ground breaking areas.

Flying Officer Janhavi M Khanolkar was presented the President's Plaque for emerging as the Best All Round Officer. She was also awarded the Chief of the Air Staff Medal for being the best in AE (Electronics) stream. Flying Officer Madhan Kumar K bagged the Vice-President's Sword of Honour for best Air Warrior in the course and Chief of the Air Staff Medal for being the best in Mechanical stream.

Eleven other officers from the friendly foreign countries like Srilanka, Indonesia and Ghana also completed their one year training in the AE.
