Greatship India's arm upgrades two PSVs to multi-support vessels

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) Greatship India Ltd's (GIL) Singapore arm Greatship Global Offshore Services Pte Ltd today announced the upgradation of two multi purpose platform supply vessels (PSVs) to multi support vessels (MSVs).

These vessels, ordered earlier this month to Mumbai-based Mazagon Dock Ltd scheduled to be delivered from late 2010 to early 2011, have been upgraded to MT6012 Mark II design with a 100 tonnes active heave compensation offshore crane, a helideck, increased accommodation (100 pax), a moonpool (for diving and ROV services) and be prepared for FiFi 1&2.

MSVs is used in construction and maintenance of various offshore assets and equipment.

The 4,600 dwt multi-purpose PSVs were designed for operating in deepwater (1,000-3,500 metres water depth), for supplying and supporting complex exploration and production operations far away from shore.

GIL currently owns and operates three PSVs, two in India and one in the North Sea.
