Govt looking into complaints of AIIMS not implementing reseveration

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) The government is looking into complaint that the reservation policy was not being implemented properly by AIIMS, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.

Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss said in a written reply that the reservation policy for SC and ST was being implemented in the medical institutions managed by the Central Government as per provisions of the Constitution.

He said India had 138 government medical colleges and 133 private colleges. The main institutions under the Health Ministry were the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education&Research, Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education&Research, Puducherry, Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, Safdarjung Hospital&UMMC, New Delhi, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi, National Institute of Mental Health&Neuro Sciences, Bangalore, Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi, All India Institute of Speech&Hearing, Mysore, All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Mumbai and All India Institute of Hygiene&Public Health.
