Ganga Expressway presentation in New Delhi on Dec 10

Lucknow, Nov 30 (UNI) To obtain No Objection Certificate (NOC) on the Noida-Ballia Ganga Expressway project, a high-level meeting between state cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh and representatives of government of India was held here today.

On Centre's behalf, Road Transport and Highways Ministry secretary Brahma Dutt and National Highways Authority of India chairperson Gokul Ram were also present at the meeting.

It was decided that a presentation for obtaining NOC for the project would be held at Road Transport and Highways Ministry in New Delhi on December 10.

The members of the planning commission would also be invited at the presentation, which would pave way for issuing NOC.

Mr Dutt said the UP government had sent projects for approval under the special package to his ministry.

He assured that the ministry would adopt a constructive approach and approve more and more such projects. The construction of roads was a land based activity and it was a matter of joy that the state government was undertaining this project on its own with the cooperation of private sector.

Mr Dutt expressed hope that it would set an example for other states to follow.
