Former BJP Rajya Sabha member passes away

Ludhiana, Nov 30 (UNI) Former Rajya Sabha member and veteran BJP leader Lajpat Rai passed away here this morning after a prolonged illness.

He was 93. He is survived by his son and two daughters and their children.

Mr Rai was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab in 1998.

He also remained closely associated with the RSS.

He was cremated with full state honours here this afternoon.
