Madikeri, Nov 30: Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today urged the state Election Commission to hold state Assembly elections in February.

Addressing a public meeting here, he said Governor Rameshwar Thakur had instructed the officials to prepare the voters list by January and it would help to conduct the polls in February.

He said it was his priority to solve the Jamma Bane issue, besides, the establishment of an airport in Kushalnagar and a railway link to Kodagu, if the BJP comes to power.

The upcoming elections would cost the state exchequer heavily due to the JD(S) breaking its promise of handing over power, he said, adding that they had not cheated the BJP, but the people of Karnataka.
