Chhattisgarh govt not to acquire ryots' land

Raipur, Nov 30 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh government would not acquire land from farmers for setting up private industrial units, Minister of State for Industry Rajesh Munat told the Assembly today.

Replying to a question, he said that such private players would have to purchase land from peasants for setting up their projects.

''They will have to follow the rules in this regard,'' he added.

Mr Dharamjit Singh (Congress) sought to know about a recommendation for allocation of coal blocks to companies keen to set up their projects. However, the Minister said that only the Mining Department could reply to the question.
