154 nominations filed in HP

Shimla, Nov 30 (UNI) As many as 154 candidates filed their nominations on the last day today, state Chief Electoral Officer Manisha Nanda said today.

Of the 154 nominations filed today, 18 were from Shimla district, 16 from Solan, five from Sirmaur, nine from Bilaspur, 16 from Hamirpur, eight from Una, 42 from Kangra district, 11 from Chamba, six from Kullu district and 23 from Mandi district, she said.

Ms Nanda said 435 candidate are in fray for the 65 assembly constituencies where elections are to be held in the second phase.

Prominent among those who filed their nominations include Lajja Ram (Doon), Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu (Nadaun), Baldev Sharma (Nadaunta), Mukesh Agnihotri (Santoshgarh), Virender Gautam (Una), Ajay Mahajan (Nurpur), Kuldeep Singh Pathania from Bhattiyat, Renu Chadha from Banikhet, Mansa Ram (Karsog) and Gulab Singh from Jogindernagar.
