Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid moving towards normalcy at AIIMS

New Delhi, Nov 29 (UNI) The condition of the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Abdullah Bukhari, who was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Monday in a critical condition, is fast improving, dcotors attending on him said today.

''The conditions of the Shahi Imam is fast improving,'' said the Head of Department of Nephrology at AIIMS S C Tiwary, who is heading a team of doctors attending on the religious leader.

''When he was shifted here from the National Heart Institute in East of Kailash, he was in a highly critical state, suffering from low blood pressure, heart blockage and moving towards kidney failure.

However, thanks to efforts by a team of doctors at AIIMS including cardiologists and nephrologists, his condition has shown considerable improvement since yesterday, Dr Tiwari said.

Though he continues to remain on IV support and kidney support, there has been a lot of improvement in his blood pressure and lung condition.

''Infact, the condition of his kidneys has improved by 50 per cent,'' Dr Tiwari said.
