Seven militants nabbed, one shot dead in Manipur

Imphal, Nov 29 (UNI) Seven militants were nabbed by police and troops in separate incidents during the past one week in Manipur.

Yesterday, police gunned down a suspected militant in an encounter at Lamshang in Imphal West. A .32 revolver, two empty cases and five live rounds were recovered from his possession.

The Assam Rifles (AR) PRO said five People's Liberation Army (PLA) cadres were nabbed during the past one week at Jiribam in Imphal East.

Meanwhile, a Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) cadre was nabbed by a combined force of police and AR troops.

Police said a Kuki National Front cadre was nabbed from Churachandpur district yesterday.

Two bodies meanwhile, were recovered from the Manipur river in Thoubal district and sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences for post-mortem.
