Deported militant arrested from Delhi airport

Phagwara, Nov 29: Punjab police has arrested a Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) (Panjwar) militant from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport soon after he was deported from Canada.

Kapurthala SSP Rakesh Agarwal yesterday said a police team was sent to nab KCF militant Jasbir Singh Sheera from airport soon after receiving information that he had been deported from Canada, where he was caught with fake documents.

On reaching Phagwara in Kapurthala last evening, Sheera was produced before a court, that remanded him in two-day police custody.

Sheera was wanted in a murder and attempt to murder cases registered against him at Phagwara and a number of cases related to militant activities at several police stations of Jalandhar district, the SSP said.
