Notice issued to infertility centre under PNDT Act

Jalandhar, Nov 29 (UNI) District medical authorities issued a show cause notice to Vardhman Medical Centre, an infertility centre, here under the PNDT Act.

Civil Surgeon JP Singh said the two-day show cause notice was issued yesterday to the infertility centre on the complaint of an NRI woman from Canada.

In her complaint, the NRI woman had alleged that the infertility centre took Rs 5 lakh from her and promised her a baby boy through some Ivs technique, but instead she gave birth to a girl child.
