Kaito
Sema
was
inducted
into
the
Nagaland
Cabinet
as
the
state
Minister
for
Works,
Housing
and
Tourism
in
the
Neiphiu
Rio-led
Democratic
Alliance
of
Nagaland
(DAN)
Ministry.
The induction came following the resignations of state Roads and Bridges Minister Tokheho Yepthomi and Parliamentary Secretaries P Chuba Chang and Jongshilemba, who resigned from the DAN Ministry on November 27.
Governor K Sankaranarayanan administered the oath of office and secrecy in presence of Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, his Cabinet colleagues, legislators, senior bureaucrats, police and Army officials at Raj Bhavan here yesterday.
Mr Kaito was elected from the Satakha Assembly Constituency under Zunheboto district on a Congress ticket in February, 2003.
He resigned from the Congress in June, 2003, and joined the Nagaland Peoples' Front (NPF), the major coalition partner of the DAN government.
He was appointed as state Elections and Home Guards Minister on October 31, 2003, but was dropped during the downsizing of the Ministry.
Later, he was appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary.
