Minor fire at Eklahre Thermal Power Station

Nashik, Nov 29 (UNI) A minor fire broke out in Unit No 4 of the Eklahre Thermal Power Station, here today.

The Thermal Power Station has 5 units with a production capacity of 875 MW electricity According to Safety Officer of the Power Station, Mr Khulekar, some oil drops fell on a hot surface which resulted in a fire causing damage to two power cables and four control cables.

The fire was doused in 10 minutes and as a precaution, the 210 MW unit was closed for some time. It will be restarted soon, Mr Khulekar added.
