Minister to visit Dubai in connection to death sentence to 2 Indians

Hyderabad, Nov 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Energy and Minority Welfare Minister Mohd Ali Shabbir would go to Dubai to sort out the issue of death sentence to two Indians belonging to the State by a local court in connection with a murder case.

According to a press release here, the Government had received an official information from the Consul General of India, Dubai that two persons were sentenced to death and four others awarded three years improsonment in connection with a murder case in Sharjah.

As the Consul General was trying to ascertain full facts of the case from the police and judicial authorities in Sharjah, to provide adequate legal assistance to the convicts, the State Government had decided to send the Minister, if the situation warranted.

With response to this communication from Consul General, Mr Shabbir had apprised the situation to the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy for extending financial assistance in legal matters.

The Minister also urged the local NGOs at Dubai for financial assistance.
