Minister stresses 'synchronisation of defence services'
Hyderabad, Nov 29 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju today stressed the need to synchronise and synergise the capabilities of three elements of military to address the emerging security concerns in the country.
Inaugurating the seminar on ''Strategic Transformation Initiatives for Realising Joint Capabilities'', organised by the College of Defence Management (CDM) here, Mr Raju said the concept of national security had undergone a fundamental change.
Stating that the security concerns needed to be addressed by an appropriate blend of the political, diplomatic, economic, military, social, technical and psychological elements, he said ''the need was to maximise military strength for which the three elements of our military need to synchronise and synergise their capabilities''.
''This would help the country in being projected favourably in the new world order'', he said.
Delivering the keynote address, Defence Secretary Vijay Singh opined that it was essential to focus on honing specific skills of individual services. A large portion of training at all levels must develope on the aspect of Jointness and Seamlessness.
He said the dictum ''You fight like you train'' should be the cornerstone for all joint training sessions.
