Kerala govt not protecting Adivasis' interests: Suresh

Kochi, Nov 29 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary Kodikunnil Suresh today alleged that the Marxist-led LDF Government in Kerala was not protecting the interests of Adivasis and was working against them.

Talking to reporters here, he said ''the government had failed to hand over land assigned to Adivasis in several parts of the state''.

He also urged Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and Revenue Minister K P Rajendran to visit Chinnakanal in Idukki district, where the CPM-sponsored encroachment of government land was taking place.

During the previous Congress-led UDF Government in Kerala, the land was given to Adivasis, but the present government did not hand over any land to them till date, Mr Suresh alleged.
