Govt-aided schools to withhold exam results

Aizawl, Nov 29 (UNI) The government-aided high schools in Mizoram have resolved to withhold the examination results of Class VIII and Class IX to protest Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga's alleged failure to grant adhoc aided status, 1997, to the schools.

An emergency meeting of the board chairmen and headmasters of government-aided schools yesterday demanded upgradation of all grant-in-aid high schools to adhoc aided status before December 10, this year, under status upgradation rule, 1997, but nothing had so far been done, sources said.
