Former TDP leader floats 'United Forum for Dalits'

Hyderabad, Nov 29 (UNI) Former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader V Tulasiram today announced the launch of 'Andhra Pradesh United Forum for Dalits' to fight for their rights.

Talking to presspersons here, he said the forum would not have affiliation with any political party and would strive for the welfare of Dalits by mounting pressure on the government to claim its stake in the funds allotted.

Stating that the forum would organise programmes in all districts to create awareness among Dalits about the government schemes, he said adding district level committees would be constituted at the earliest.

Mr Tulasiram was unanimously elected as President of the forum, V T Prakash took over as Working President and K Gopal as Vice President.
