CRPF jawans stage flag march in Vadodara

Vadodara, Nov 29 (UNI) With the political climate in election-bound Gujarat heating up, CRPF jawans today staged a flag march in communally sensitive walled city areas of Vadodara.

The central forces conducted the flag march in the violence-prone Panigate, Fatehpura City, Wadi, Navapura and Raopura police station areas which have a large concentration of Muslim population.

As filing of nominations for the December 16, second phase elections have come to a close, the first batch of central forces comprising four companies of CRPF jawans arrived here yesterday, to be deployed in vulnerable areas in the city and in other parts of the district which witnessed widespread communal violence in the aftermath of the Godhra carnage.

Besides central forces, police sources said mobile patrol parties have also been set up to keep strong vigil on the sensitive areas.
