copper utensils, brass cuttings, zinc rise

Mumbai, Nov 29 (UNI) Prices of copper heavy, copper utensils, copper wire bars, brass cuttings and zinc slab in ferrous and non-ferrous metal categories advanced for the third consecutive day today on sustained heavy industrial users demand induced by bullish advice from London Metal Exchange (LME) and Kolkata, Delhi and other centres, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.

In the ferrous category (per quintal), copper heavy and copper utensils rose again by Rs 300 and Rs 200 repsectively on fresh industrial users demand due to bullish advice from LME, Kolkata and Delhi centres. Similarly, brass utensils and brass cuttings rose by Rs 200 each on improved demand from industrial users. Aluminium utensils, however, remained unchanged on sufficient arrival of stocks from upcountry centres.

In the non-ferrous category (per quintal), copper wire bars and zinc slab too hiked by Rs 200 and Rs 100 respectively on lack of offers by stockists in face of lesser ready stocks.

But aluminium ingot and lead ingots declined by Rs 100 and Rs 700 respectively on poor industrial users demand, induced by bearish advice from LME, Kolkata, Delhi, Indore and souther regions.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,000, Copper utensils - Rs 31,700, Brass utensils - Rs 24,700, Brass cuttings - Rs 25,200 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,700.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 37,200, Aluminium ingots - Rs 12,200, Zinc slab - Rs 13,100, Lead ingots - Rs 12,500, Tin slab - Rs 800 per kg and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,400 per kg.
