Brihanmumbai Nivara Abhiyan to approach court against ULCA repeal

Mumbai, Nov 29 (UNI) A city-based voluntary organisation, working for housing to the poor, today accused the Maharashtra government of working for foreign and Indian capitalists and said it will approach the regular and the citizens court against the government's decision to repeal the Urban Land Ceiling Act (ULCA).

Brihanmumbai Nivara Abhiyan, in a release here, said its members will approach the regular and the citizens court against the government's decision to repeal the Urban Land Ceiling Act (ULCA).

It said the Legislative Council will clear the proposal like the Legislative Assembly had done today and accused the government of ignoring the financial interests of the state.

The trustees of the organisation are Mrinal Gore (former Member of Parliament), former MLA P B Samant and Kamal Desai, an ex-MLA.
