Assam Govt should apologise for insulting Tribal Girl: BJP
New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) The BJP today deplored the silence on the part of the Centre and the Assam Government on the stripping of a girl during a tribal agitation, demanding an apology from the Central and state Governments.
Talking to newspersons, BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said that although the whole country had condemned the inhuman treatment meted out to the tribal girl, the Centre and the State Government had been maintaining silence, except arresting five persons in connection with the incident.
Had it happened in any BJP-ruled state, the Congress workers would have come on the streets and made it a very big issue, he said.
