Advinus opens Development Centre in Bangalore

Bangalore, Nov 29 (UNI) Advinus Therapeutics, a Tata enterprise, today opened its state-of-the-art corporate office and development centre here.

Talking to newspersons here, Advinus Managing Director and CEO Rashmi Barbhaiya said ''the development centre provided comprehensive services for development of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals under one roof to Indian as well as global companies.'' ''This is yet another example of India's emerging role in supporting drug development with efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Our state-of-the-art laboratories and seasoned research teams are uniquely positioned to leverage the Indian advantage,'' he added.

Dr Barbhaiya said the centre would take up research and development of inventions made at Green Field Drug Centre, Pune.

The company, established in 2005, had received a two-year contract for 'carcinogenic' study from a US-based company.

Tata Sons Executive Director R Gopalakrishnan said Advinus was an example of Tata Group's commitment to promote innovation-led and knowledge-based industries.

The company was ideally positioned along with international life sciences companies.

Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata would formally inaugurate the Centre set up on eight acre with about 210,000 sqft built up space, he added.
