Red Ribbon Express to enter Rajasthan on Dec 2
Jaipur, Nov 28(UNI) The Red Ribbon Express(RRE), an AIDS awareness train, to be flagged off from Delhi on World AIDS Day on December 1 will enter Rajasthan on December 2.
Addressing a press conference here today, Principal Secretary of Health R K Meena said the seven-coach train would enter the state via Alwar, on December 2, to reach Jaipur on December 4. The train will continue its journey to Madhya Pradesh touching Sawai Madhopur on December 8 and Kota on December 11.
NACO and the Indian Railways have signed an agreement to run a train to create HIV/AIDS awareness among the masses. Of the seven coaches, three are proposed to display educational meterials, one to be kept for interative orientation/discussion and one for counselling and providing medical services.
The proposed Red Ribbon Express has been launched with the key objective to increase the AIDS awareness and promote safe behaviour among people.
The train will cover 22 states, 180 stations and 43200 villages in its journey.
