Promethean launches Interactive Whiteboard

Bangalore, Nov 28 (UNI) Promethean, the global player in interactive learning, today launched their Interactive Whiteboard in the country.

The user-friendly software, which has been successfully used in more than 70 countries, comes with Activclassroom range which enables teachers to prepare lessons in a digital format to capture students' attention and accommodate different learning styles.

Promethean Senior Vice-President of International Sales Mark Reeves told newspersons that besides selling its product the company wants to make a difference in education so that students can learn easily and make their career brighter.

He said that already 1.2 million Interactive Whiteboards were installed and the figure was exected to touch 5.3 million by 2011.

''As a global leader in interavtive technologies for the classroom, Promethean is continually looking at advancements for its active classroom product line. With growing use of wide-screen projectors and content in the classroom, it only made sense to offer a wide-screen version of our product,'' added Mr Reeves.

The price ranges from Rs 80,000 to Rs 1.25 lakh, excluding accessories. Indian market is expanding rapidly during the last two months and about 85 enquiries have been received.

The software now available in 25 languages, will be available in 40 within next 15 months.

Promethean has launched the product in collaboration with Almoe Digital Solutions, the leading provider of Promethean's array of products in India which would be making available top of the range interactive technology to schools across the country.
