Police investigates into issuance of fake notes

Bokaro, Nov 28 (UNI) Police has initiated an investigation into alleged issuance of fake currency by a branch of a nationalised bank in this district of Jharkhand.

Police sources here today said that about Rs 2.10 lakh was issued to one Sanjay Sharma by Nayamore branch of Canara Bank, of which about Rs 6,000 were found to be fake. It was revealed when Mr Sharma went to deposit the money to another bank against his loan.

''The fake notes were among the bundle of currencies withdrawn from the bank," sources added.
