One miscreant killed in firing by DPL security personnel

Durgapur, Nov 28 (UNI) One miscreant was killed by security personnel, when he, along with his gang members, tried to steal steel items from the Durgapur Project Ltd campus here early today.

A few miscreants entered the campus early this morning and tried to carry some steel products out of the campus when the company's security personnel chased them.

DPL Spokesperson Nihar Majumdar said that when the miscreants hurled bombs at them, the security personnel retaliated by firing back at them. In the process, one of them was severly wounded.

He was taken to the sub-divisional hospital at Bidhannagar, where he died this afternoon.

Two DPL security personnel were wounded in the incident and had also been hospitalised.
