Jairam Ramesh to inaugurate Golden Jubilee of RPES

Kottayam, Nov 28 (UNI) Union Minister Jairam Ramesh will inaugurate the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Rubber Plantation Extension Scheme (RPES) of the Rubber Board here on December 17.

Addressing a press conference, Chairman Sajen Peter said Opposition Leader in the State Asembly Oommen Chandy would present the Suvarnasangham Award 2007, instituted by the Rubber Producers Society to Elavampadom RPS.

Rubber Board Member P J Kurian, MP, would launch the website. PWD Minister Mons Joseph would release the logo of the jubilee.

As part of the jubilee celebrations, zonal meetings would be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Mangalore, Agartala and Guwahati during January and February 2008.

The celebrations would conclude with a two-day international seminar at Kochi in May 2008,he said.
