New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Expressing concern over the reports of stripping of an adivasi woman by a mob in Assam, the BJP today said it was considering to send a team of MPs to study the ghastly incident.

BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the incident that had taken place in the full media glare was ''utterly shameful'' but Home Minister Shivraj Patil had chosen to read out the report sent by the Assam Government belonging to his own party (Congress).

The Home Minister announced a compensation of Rs one lakh to the aggrieved person but the Centre should have censured the state government for this lapse, he said.

The issue also figured in the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, presided over by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani, where the party MPs condemned the stripping of the tribal woman as a gross violation of her human rights.
