Anti-Corruption unit raid govt departments

Port Blair, Nov 28 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption unit of Andaman and Nicobar island has raided two government departments and detected huge anomalies in them.

An official release today stated that following a tip off the first raid was conducted in the fisheries department and found that huge stock of fishing materials, to be distributed among fishermen, were kept in the godown since 2003.

However, investigation was on as why the materials were not disbursed to the fisherman, the release stated.

The second raid was conducted in stores of PWD department at Chatham Wharf, where materials from Middle Andaman unit were being loaded in a vessel to South Andaman unit.

It was revealed that stone dust of approximately 95.3 CMT from Hut Bay was diverted in the same ship by providing fake documents to a Middle Andaman village.
