7 dacoits arrested with vehicles, firearms and other weapons

Kurukshetra, Nov 28 (UNI) Police today arrested 7 members of a gang of inter-state dacoits, along with stolen vehicles and some firearms, swords and daggers.

Most of the dacoits belonged to the Punjab and Jammu region. The police had received a tip off that some dacoits were hiding in nearby village Mirzapur to commit some crime in the area.

The police party raided the spot and nabbed seven gangsters.

Out of them two hailed from Kurukshetra and Yamunannagar in Haryana while the rest were from Amritsar, Batala, Gurdaspur and Jammu.

The police, on interrogation, seized two gypsies, 5 motorcycles besides one pistol, one toy revolver, two swords, one dagger and some live cartridges.

The police after registering case under sections 394, 379, 402, 411, 420 along with Arms Act, produced them in the local court today which remanded them to police custody for two days.
