Woman bus passenger loses life for dozing at window seat

Sangrur, Nov 27 (UNI) A woman passenger had to pay with her life for resting her head at the open window of a bus here today when she was fatally hit by another bus.

Shanta Devi, 40, apparently dozed off with her head protruding out of the open window when a bus speeding past at close quarters hit her head, causing serious injuries.

Shanta Devi, who was travelling along with her family hailing from Jind in neighbouring Haryana, was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.

The driver of the bus which hit her sped away with the vehicle even as passengers raised an alarm.

Police has registered a case against the absconding driver.

UNI
