Virgin Atlantic opens contest for Spice Girls fans

Mumbai, Nov 27 (UNI) UK-based air carrier, Virgin Atlantic, which is also the airline partner for the ''Return of the Spice Girls'' world tour, is launching a jumbo competition for Spice Girls fans all around the globe.

To help celebrate the world tour, the girls are asking their fans to help them choose the name of a Virgin Atlantic jumbo jet, which will be christened in their honour, said a statement here today.

Spice Girls, Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria will name one of Virgin Atlantic's 747 jumbo jets.

The lucky winner and their guest will fly to, or within, the US during December to meet the Spice Girls as they name the aircraft, the statement said.

The Spice Girls have come up with three names, Spice One, Girl Power and Spice Girl, and the contestants will have to choose from these three options, the statement added.

The name which receives the most votes before December 5, the last date to participate in the competition, will win and one entrant will be selected at random to meet the band.

Last month Virgin Atlantic announced that the Spice Girls have chosen their airlines as the airline partner for the Return of the Spice Girls world tour, which kicks off in December.
