Srinagar Times Editor-in-Chief bereaved, wife dies

Srinagar, Nov 27 (UNI) Raja Begum, wife of Soofi Ghulam Mohammad, a Member of Legislative Council (MLC) in Jammu and Kashmir and the Editor-in-Chief of Srinagar Times, one of the leading Urdu dailies from the Valley, passed away here today after prolonged illness.

She was 80 and is survived by her husband and seven daughters.

Raja Begum was ill for a long time now and died of renal failure at her residence at Buchwara, Dalgate here at around 1030 hrs.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed profound grief over her demise.

In a condolence message to Mr Sufi, Mr Azad conveyed heartfelt condolences on the death of his spouse and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

He also conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family.
