Punjab govt constitues committee for NRI conference
Chandigarh, Nov 27 (UNI) The Punjab Government has constituted a 18-member Empowered Steering Committee headed by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for organising the NRI Sammelan on January five and six at Chandigarh and Jalandhar respectivly.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesman said that other members of the committee would be the Minister for Industries and Commerce, MP and working president of the Shromani Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal, state BJP chief Rajinder Bhandari, MP Sukhdev Singh Dhinda, Minister for Information and Public Relations Bikram Singh Majithia and Advisor to Chief Minister Daljit Singh Cheema.
The other members are former ministers Bibi Jagir Kaur and Jathedar Tota Singh, former MP Balbir Singh and former MLA Surjit Singh Rakhra besides the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Home, Director General of Police, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Principal Secretary Information and Public Relations.
Jalandhar Division Commissioner would be the Convener of the committee. The Committee would also finalise the list of invitees for the Sammelan, the spokesman added.
