Parents of kidnapped girl booked

Hyderabad, Nov 27 (UNI) The city police today registered cases against the parents of a 19-year-old girl, who was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified persons on November 23 from her house at Banjara Nagar here, for misleading the police.

Police said cases were booked against the parents of Ms Swapna for misleading the police by giving a complaint against an auto driver, alleging that he had kidnapped their daughter.

Police sources had already confirmed that Ms Swapna was not kidnapped and the special team probing into the case traced her in Tirupathi.

Her parents lodged complaint that Swapna was kidnapped when she stepped out to sweep the front portion of the house.

Her parents suspected an auto rickshaw driver, whom the teenager slapped four days ago for passing lewd comments at her, behind the abduction.

Irated auto drivers staged dharna infront of Ms Swapna's house and pelted stones at buses, which were proceeding from the street and broke down window panes of two buses.

Tension prevailed in the area for sometime.

However, police swung into action and brought normalcy.
