One man, 4 women arrested in girl trafficking case

Basirhat, Nov 27 (UNI) A man along with four women were arrested for trafficking a girl and selling her off to a brothel in Kolkata yesterday.

Police here today said that one Abhijit Saha, in disguise of police lured the 17-year-old girl to get her a job in the city, and sold her off to a pimp.

However, the girl managed to escape from the brothel after three days, police said.

A fake identity card and two mobile phones were recovered from the accused.

He was produced before the Additional chief Judicial Magistrate here, who remanded the accused to ten days police custody and the women to 14 days judicial custody.

Investigation was on.
