MP Govt admits irregularities in purchase made by Health Director

Bhopal, Nov 27 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today admitted in the state Assembly that irregularities to the tune of more than Rs two crore took place in purchase and payments made by the Health Director.

In a written reply to a question by Mr Mahendra Singh Chouhan, Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi said irregularities had been exposed in documents -- related to physical verification of expenditure carried out between January 1 2004, to February 28 2005 -- submitted by the Directorate (Treasury and Accounts).

Mr Vishnoi revealed that purchase of more than Rs 1.70 crore and payment of over Rs 42 lakh was made in an irregular manner.

A letter would be sent to the Directorate (Treasury and Accounts) soon for taking action against the Health Director in this regard.
