Jharkhand Yuva Morcha call 24-hr bandh in three districts of Bengal

Purulia, Nov 27 (UNI) In protest against Saturday's attack on Adivasis in Guwahati, the Jharkhand Yuva Morcha today called a 24-hour bandh in Purulia, Bankura and West Midnapore districts of West Bengal.

State Secretary of Jharkhand Yuva Morcha Bill Tudu claimed that the bandh was successful.

However, District Administrative Officers informed that the attendance in offices were mostly normal and about 75 per cent bus and minibus plied without any trouble.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha had submitted a deputation to all District Magistrates of Purulia, Bankura and West Midnapore, in protest against torture on Adivasi and demanded compensation for victims.

Talking to mediapersons here today, Ajit Prasad Mahato, President of JMM(S) West Bengal State Committee, condemned the brutality and demanded due justice.
